Meeting Notes from May 1967
The Rochester Magician's Club met at the Sheraton Hotel on May 2nd for their monthly meeting. It was mutually agreed by every member present that this was the most interesting meeting they have attended.
Paul Scott, host for this meeting, arranged for Jerome (Jerry) Steiker to be guest speaker. Jerry is a former member of Ring #4 and at present is still a member of Ring #26 of New York City.
For over an hour Jerry had us spellbound with his activities during World War II. He was assigned to the American O.S.S. working as a cryptographer, writing and deciphering secret codes. He was a member of the three man team which "broke" the Japanese code and received world acclaim for his effort.
Jerry also spoke on his recent trip abroad and his meetings with many of the Great Magicians of other countries. He said what we all know, that Magicians are the greatest people on earth. In every country he was treated like a true brother.
After the meeting, Jerry did some fine card tricks for the members. In return, 88 years young, Lu Sherman and Hal Newton did card tricks for Jerry and his lovely new bride, which they enjoyed.
Thanks to Paul and Jerry, it was one well spent evening.

Meeting Notes from June 1967
The June meeting of the Rochester Magicians Club was held on June 6th at the Central YMCA. Mr. Lu Sherman was host, with ten members present. This was the poorest showing we have had at a meeting. The weather was most likely the reason because it was a hot night.
The guest of the evening was Don Sanders from Boise, Idaho. Don is a former school show worker and now working for Eastman Kodak Company in the Sales Department. We enjoyed Don's company and welcome him back any time he visits Rochester.
Not too much magic was shown but several lengthy informative topics were covered.
Lu Sherman, Bill Allen, Bill Parker, Al Hauser, Erwin Sloane and Doc Joel all did several card tricks, some old, some new, but all good. Lu Sherman's lovely wife served coffee and rolls which were enjoyed by all. This was the last meeting until September for the Rochester Magicians Club.

Meeting Notes from September 1967
The September meeting was held at the home of Ralph Gray. Al Hauser was host and lecturer for the evening, with his subject being cards. Our new policy is for our monthly meetings is to have a lecture each meeting. This was our first and it went over well. I am sure all members are looking forward to the next one.
Along with our lectures each meeting, we have also started a contest, with each member doing a trick from a pre-assigned category. This month it was cards and all fifteen members who attended the meeting did a card trick. Don Adams did an ESP routine with cards. Al Hauser did "Conformist - Non Conformist." Dr. Joel did Awtons sucker effect. Joe Taylor did a Four Ace effect. Hal Newton did a Las Vegas Topsy - Turvy Spread Turnover. Harold Rasmus did a wine cork penetration with a card. Bob Follmer did the Computer Card routine. Harold Bollotin did his four Ace routine. Lu Sherman did a nice Slick Location. Norm Sehm did a nice card location with an invisible thread. Maynard Lisk did 10 plus 10 routines. The first place trophy went to Ralph Gray with a very funny routine done with a Svengali and Nudist 1/2 wit deck. Hal Newton took second place honors.
All the members enjoyed the new look of the meeting and all had a heck of a good time. We ended the evening with a "Grab Bag" and a lunch put on and served by Mrs. Hauser and Mrs. Gray.
