Effect : Magician shows 6 cards and asks a spectator to touch one. The magician puts it
aside and shows the remaining five cards to be all black. The one the spectator touched is
the only red one! This is repeated and the spectator picks the only black one in a bunch
of reds! Now the magician turns over three blacks and has the spectator touch one of the
remaining three. Again he picks the only red one. Then he takes the red and touches the
two remaining blacks and they turn red!
Preparation : Take three reds and three black cards out of the deck and alternate the
colors. Turn then face down and fan them. Have a spectator touch one and cut it to the
top. This is important! Don't just pull it out. Now place it to the side. Square up the
other cards and put them in your left hand. Take the top card into your right hand. Now
flip over the whole packet in your left hand showing the bottom card. Also flip the right
hands card. Now flip them back over. The audience sees two of the same color. Now put the
right hand's card on the table. Then take the top card off the left hands packet and put
that down on top of it. That shouldn't be the one you showed. Now take another card into
the right hand and repeat that process. Now your left with one card. Show it and put it on
the pile. If you did this right you should have showed all five to be the same color.
(Note: This move is called the Orlam Subtlety.) Now flip over the one they touched.
It's different. Put that card on the BOTTOM of the other packet and your ready to repeat
that whole process again. Do that. Now instead of putting their card on the bottom of the
packet, put it on top. Now take the second from the bottom card and put it on top. Now
take the third from the bottom card and put it on top. Now you should have the colors
separated. Split the fan of cards in half and flip over one half. Shuffle the others and
have a spectator pick out one. It will be different from the one's you flipped over. Take
it and tap the over face down ones in your hand and show them to have changed! If done
correctly and quickly, this looks awesome.
Effect: Magician shows a quarter and a penny. He puts then in a spectator's hand. He
instructs him to put one coin in each hand behind his back. He does and brings them
forward. The magician asks the spectator which hand has the penny. He indicates one. The
magician tells him to open it. It's a dime!
Setup: You might know that this was originally done with a Scotch and Soda set, but I
fiddled around and found out that you don't need it. Take dime and a quarter and pinched
them together in your right hand with your middle finger and thumb. You won't be able to
see the dime. Hold the penny in your left hand in the same way.
Trick: Comment that the penny is much smaller than the quarter so you always know which is
which. Bring the penny under the quarter so you can't see it and add it to the little
pinched bunch of coins. Now quickly flip them over and back to show the penny. You can do
this cause the dime is the same color as the quarter. Now instruct them to hold out there
hand. Now bring the bunch down to your left fingertips for a second and let the penny drop
while simultaneously turning it over putting it in finger palm. Now place the quarter and
dime, they think it's a penny in there hand. Don't let go. Tell them to close their hand.
Only take your hand out when you can't see the coins. Show your right hand empty. Instruct
them to put their hands behind there back and put one coin in each hand and bring them
forward. Ask them which hand the penny is in and have them open it! This is great. It's
one of my favorites. You can have a pencil in your left pants pocket to bring out if you
want to ditch the penny, and tap their hand to make it change if you think they might ask
to see your left hand. Or you could just show the penny after it changed and smile if you
were doing this as a bet.
Effect : The magician takes out a pencil, gives it a shake, and it visibly changes into a
silk.
Secret: You need to know how to do the move first. Pinch a pencil between all your fingers
with the back of your hand facing away from you. If you rotate your the pencil back
towards yourself and down onto your arm, you can't see it from the front. You have to be
able to do this fast.
Take a corner of a silk and put it in thumb palm on your left hand. Zig zag the rest of
the silk so it fits in your left hand. Close your fingers around it so you can't see it.
Take a pencil in your right hand, pinched like before. Now bring your left hand above it,
and place the tip of the pencil behind your left hand. Now with a quick movement, do the
vanish thing with the pencil while simultaneously letting you of the silk in your left
hand.
You can also produce the pencil behind your back if you want.
Effect: Four spectator's freely select a card each. They're shuffle back into the deck.
The magician takes out his four "magic locating Aces". He gives one to each
spectator and starts dealing out cards. He instructs them to toss the cards face up onto
the pile at any time so they can be located. He has them shuffle the deck. Even though
they put the Aces anywhere they wanted and they shuffled the deck, somehow, all Aces are
sitting next to each of the spectator's cards!
No palming!
Secret : Put the four Aces back into the box. Have four spectators pick out cards. Now
your going to have to get all their cards to the bottom. I'll show you my way. Lift up
half the deck and have him put the card on top of the bottom pile. As you sandwich the
piles together, do a push back, injogging their card. Cut their card to the top, then get
a break under it and double cut it to the bottom. Have the second spectator put their card
on top and again, double it to the bottom. Do a riffle shuffle retaining the to on bottom.
Take the next to and double cut them together to the bottom, and do a false cut, shuffle,
etc... Now your set. Take the "Magical Aces" out of the box and give them one to
each of the spectators. Deal cards from the top onto a pile on the table and have a
spectator put his Ace FACE UP onto the pile at any time. Now injog the bottom card and put
the deck onto the pile. Get a break above the injogged card and square up. Deal from the
deck again until the second spectator puts his Ace in. Injog the first card above break.
Now put just the cards above the break including the jogged card onto the pile. Take the
card on the table, and put them on top of the remaining cards in your hand, getting a new
break above the injogged card and square up. By, now, you see how this procedure is
putting the Aces right next to their cards. Repeat the process with the other two Aces and
you don't need a break after the last one. Have the spectator's each CUT the cards once.
If an ace ends up on top, you cut it one last time. Spread the deck face down, left to
right and take out four pairs of cards. A face up Ace, and the card to the RIGHT of them.
Flip each face down card over and have the spectators claim their cards!
This is my favorite trick and I hope you like it too.

Effect: The magician pushes a coin through his hand, pulls one from anywhere, makes one
dissolve and turn into a quarter.
Equipment: 2 pennies, 1 clear glass full of water, 1 handkerchief or towel, 1 quarter, and
a lot of palming techniques.
Preparation: Palm a penny in the right hand. Have the glass of water on the table.
Put the towel over your left arm, waiter style. Put the other penny on the table. The
quarter should be in the right pocket.
Presentation: Pick up the penny with the left hand. Put your right palm face down( so the
penny goes unnoticed) and put the other penny on top of your hand, near the middle. Press
down hard and let go of the palmed coin. It will clatter loudly on the table. While
everyone is distracted, quickly palm the penny that is under your left hand. Grab the
penny on the table with your right hand, and pretend to put it away in your pocket but in
reality you actually put the penny away and palm a quarter.Proceed to "pull" the
penny out of a spectator's ear. (With the palmed penny in the left hand.) Put that penny
on the table while you grab the towel with your right hand (that contains the quarter) and
bring it over to the glass. Pick up the penny with your left hand and pick up the glass
with the hankie on top of it with the right (That still contains the quarter. Now put the
left hand under the hankie and pretend to drop the penny into the glass, but actually drop
it into your left hand. Make sure the two coins don't clink together. Stick the penny
underneath the glass (which you should have put down with your right hand.) Now remove the
hankie and invite people to look into the glass. They will believe that the penny is in
the glass. Now put the hankie over the glass and drop the quarter into the glass. Pick up
and palm the penny with the other hand. Remove the hankie and show the quarter in the
glass, and take your bow.
