Rochester Assembly 47
Society of American Magicians

I wanted to say Hi and introduce myself to the members of Assembly # 47.  I am PAT COLBY (samrvppat@gmail.com) and have been elected  the Regional VP for the North Atlantic region for the SAM. (I ran in the election unopposed-so I wonder what everyone else knew that I didn't)

 

I hope to be able to make a trip up their in the spring and drop by for a visit.  As the RVP, I am your voice to National.  Please contact me via email with concerns, questions, or suggestions.  I am also responsible (as is your Assembly Secretary) for updating National with the names and full contact information for all the officers of the Assembly.  I am involved with the Veteran's program locally (my 22 yr old son just returned from Iraq)  and especially encourage members to perform benefit shows at Veteran's homes.  As with all free and charity shows (especially during magic week) they need to be reported to me so I can inform National.  The more publicity the SAM receives for their good work the better.  Obviously we are all concerned with attracting new members and the development of the Young magicians in the area.  Another important duty of each Assembly is sending in to MUM a meeting report so everyone in magic knows you exist.  Here in NYC we get visitors from all over the world at the Magic Table simply because for 60 years magicians know that every Friday magicians meet for lunch at the Edison Cafe.  Most of all have FUN,  keep an archive and history of the club and its founders. 

 

So far I have met a great bunch of guys during my visits and hope to see you soon.  -Pat Colby

PLEASE NOTE - We voted to try a new location for the rest of the 2009
meetings.  The meetings will now be held at Penfield Ambulance.
The directions are below.

1585 Jackson Road - Penfield Ambulance

Off the 590, head North East on BROWNCROFT
BROWNCROFT turns into ATLANTIC
You will be on this road for about 4.8 miles
Turn left on JACKSON - go about .4 miles
Penfield Ambulance is on your left (red sign out front)
Parking and entrance are BEHIND the building
